Conducting Fieldwork in Zambia: Context and Methods

As a function of its Affiliation Programme, SAIPAR regularly hosts workshops for its visiting affiliates, inclusive of Master’s students and PhD candidates from various universities internationally. The Context and Methods Workshop will take place on 30th of June to serve the function of helping to prepare new Master’s and PhD students for conducting fieldwork in Zambia. Topics covered will include available archival sources; survey and interview methods; political context; and cultural sensitivity. Speakers will include members of the SAIPAR management team and visiting postdoctoral research fellows, as well as advanced PhD students with experience conducting recent fieldwork in Zambia.
